Procanico Grape Variety
The Procanico grape variety, a clone of the Trebbiano grape, is grown particularly around the area of Lake Bolsena in northern Lazio. The grapes are pink in colour and have a high sugar content. The wines can be fresh and fruity but do not keep long. Procanico appears mainly in the Orvieto white wines.
