Pecorino Grape Variety

The Pecorino grape variety is a very old high quality white grape which is known particularly for white wines from Le Marche and Abruzzo. The wines are normally dry with an elegant bouquet and flavours of apples, pears, thyme, and sage. It is said that the grape gets its name from the sheep which like to eat it. It is used mainly to make Offida DOCG and Controguerra DOC.

We visit wineries, restaurants and other highlights to give you the information you need to plan a great trip to Italy. We can design itineraries, advise on bookings and show you the Italy that the tour companies don’t tell you about.
