Nebbiolo Grape Variety

Nebbiolo is, arguably, Italy’s greatest grape variety. Nebbiolo is best known for the production of Barolo and Barbaresco wines and is cultivated predominantly in Piedmont and Lombardy. It produces wines with high acidity, tannins, and alcohol. As they age they acquire a characteristic brick orange tint at the rim of the glass. It has a bouquet and flavours of red roses, violets, prunes, red cherries, tea, tobacco, liquorice, and truffles. Wines made from this grape can be aged very well.

There are three main clones used for making wines, namely Lampia, Michet, and Rosé
