Croatina Grape Variety

Croatina is a blending grape which is high in colour and tannins. On the nose and in the mouth you will find raspberries and ripe black cherries. Croatina wines are generally dry and it is not unusual for there wines to be lightly frizzante. It is grown primarily in Piedmont, Lombardy – where you will find it in the Oltrepò Pavese area – and Piacenza in Emilia-Romagna. The grape is believed to have originated in Croatia.

We visit wineries, restaurants and other highlights to give you the information you need to plan a great trip to Italy. We can design itineraries, advise on bookings and show you the Italy that the tour companies don’t tell you about.
