Ciliegiolo Grape Variety

Ciliegiolo, which is Italian for “cherry”, is a red grape also known as Morettone. It is grown in the centre and south of Italy with the largest concentrations being in Tuscany, particularly in the Maremma, and Puglia. It is used, inter alia, in Montecucco DOC, Colli di Luno DOC, and Rosso Orvietano DOC.

We visit wineries, restaurants and other highlights to give you the information you need to plan a great trip to Italy. We can design itineraries, advise on bookings and show you the Italy that the tour companies don’t tell you about.
