There are three recognised Recioto appellations, namely Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG (made from Corvina and Corvinone), Recioto di Gambellara DOCG (made from Garganega), and Recioto di Soave DOCG (made from Garganega). These are dessert wines made from grapes which are harvested when very ripe and left to dry until they have almost turned to raisins.
