Montepulciano Grape Variety
The Montepulciano grape variety is also known as the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. It is light to full-bodied with soft tannins, and a bouquet and flavours of red cherries and herbs. Montepulciano is a grape variety native to Italy and is the second most widely cultivated variety. It is grown primarily in Abruzzo and Puglia with smaller quantities grown elsewhere in central and Southern Italy. Wines made from the Montepulciano grape variety are generally easy-drinking wines and they pair well with food.
