The Chianti DOCG wine from Tuscany is a complex subject because there are no less than seven subzones:

  • Colli Aretini
  • Colli Fiorentini
  • Colline Pisane
  • Colli Senesi
  • Montalbano
  • Montespertoli
  • Rufina

Within these subzones the rules may vary but there will never be less than 70% Sangiovese with additional permitted grapes that may include Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
