Was Barolo born on Cannubi Hill, Piedmont? Probably – we can’t say with complete certainty but it is a hill which has featured in many dramas, both in and out of the courtroom. Cannubi Hill is a gradually sloping hill which is protected from extreme weather by the surrounding higher hills. Italy’s most famous vineyards lie along this hill; everything about this hill is just perfect for growing grapes from the soils to the microclimate to the altitude. This is real Italian wine country.
