Barbera d’Asti is a red DOCG wine from Piedmont. Under the DOCG rules the wine must be made of a minimum of 90% of Barbera grapes. The balance can be made up of Freisa, Grignolino, or Dolcetto Grapes. The wine is produced in the hilly areas of Asti and Alexandria, Piedmont.
